FAQs

What is a session with Alexandra like?

First, and foremost, it’s FUN! There are no stiff poses and I promise you won’t have to say cheese! It’s relaxed and playful and we will work together to design photos that represent YOU!

Where is your studio located?

The outdoors is my studio! All my sessions are held outside at locations all around the coastal bend. I have a list of great spots that will provide fantastic backdrops for your photos. Newborn sessions are held in your home.

What does the session fee cover?

It covers a consultation by email or phone before the session to answer any questions you have and to help you select the perfect outfits and locations for your session. Next, we’ll spend 1-2 hours together for the actual photo shoot at the location of your choosing. Finally, I will edit and retouch approximately 20 images that will be hosted in an online gallery and slideshow. I spend an average of 10-20 hours on each client’s session.

Can I bring my camera/camera phone/video camera to our session?

Sorry, but no. It is distracting for both me and the participants to have multiple cameras going off during a session.

Aren’t there less expensive photographers out there?

I’m sure there are. But, remember the old expression, you get what you pay for!

What’s the difference between a custom photography session and a chain studio?

Well, alot, actually. Each session I shoot is completely customized to your needs. I will provide consultation before and after the session, choose poses and locations that are flattering to you and fit your personality. I will post your finished images in a private gallery and you will get several days to browse through them and make your selections. Then we work together to design heirloom products that will be cherished by your family for decades. Basically, you get one on one service from start to finish!

When should I schedule my senior portraits?

You can schedule them anytime, but it really depends on what you want to do with them. If you want to use them for college and scholarship applications, then I suggest July or August before your senior year. If you just want to include them in your announcements (or even cooler…DESIGN your own announcements using your photos) then schedule your session in Feb or March. Just remember to allow 3 weeks for prints or 6 weeks for custom designed products.

Why don’t you schedule sessions during the day?

The best and most flattering light is about 1-2 hours before sunset. The sun is very harsh during the middle of day, which will cause you or your children to squint…not flattering. If your family’s schedule doesn’t allow for an evening session, let me know and we’ll try to come up with an alternative.

Where can I find your wedding and special event pricing?

I am not available for weddings or special events at this time.
